Lee qualified as a chartered accountant in 1991. He trained at Touche Ross, latterly known as Deloitte in Leeds before leaving to join a Cumbrian firm of chartered accounts as the audit manager. After 5 years there he decided to set up his own firm in 1997 and has been in general practice ever since.

Lee has experience of working with a variety of firms from soletraders up to quoted plc’s in accounting, auditing and taxation. He has a broad depth of taxation and general business knowledge developed while assisting clients over 30 years in practice.

Before starting accountancy, Lee qualified as a civil engineer in Plymouth and believes this engineer background enables him to understand construction firms business requirements – a specialist area of the firm.

Back in his youth Lee was a member of the famous Carlsberg professional windsurfing team where he became under 18 years British national windsurfing champion 2 years running. He then began sailing boats and is a former British national champion in the International Canoe class. Lee has won the prestigious Birkett sailing race on Ullswater six times. He is married to Corrina who helps with administration.
